Track Season Coming Soon!

Track Season Coming Soon!

Track Season will begin soon, in mid-March.  Check back for more information as we get closer to the beginning of the season. 

All students must have a current KHSAA physical to participate. 

Academic expectations: All students are expected to maintain a 2.0 GPA or a 70% (or higher) cumulative class average to be eligible for tryouts and participate during the season.

Getting Ready for the Track Try-Outs

1.      Get a friend of equal ability to go running with you.

2.      Drink water.

3.      Eat healthy snacks.

4.      Dress for the weather.

5.      Warm up.

          a.      Stretch out – use the list.

          b.      Go for 3 - 5 minute jogs.

6.      If you are planning on running distance, go for a 15 - 20 minute jog

7.      Short distances

          a.      Do some hill sprints.  Run up fast and walk down.  10 – 15 times

           b.      Intervals – run 100, 200, then 400.  Rest 3 minutes between each set – 6 sets

8.      Stretch out when finished.
